EV Charger Repair &
Troubleshooting in Surrey, BC
Charger showing a fault code? Car won't start charging? We diagnose and fix EV charger problems for homeowners and businesses across Surrey, Langley, Delta, and the Fraser Valley. Licensed electricians, no guesswork, same-week appointments.
What's Wrong With Your EV Charger?
EV chargers are reliable, but they do develop faults. Some problems are a five-minute fix. Others need a licensed electrician to trace the cause properly. Either way, we can sort it.
We work on all major residential and commercial EVSE brands. We carry common replacement parts on the van so most repairs are done in one visit.
Don't keep cycling the breaker or trying workarounds with a faulty charger. Electrical faults can damage your car's onboard charger or create a fire risk. Call us first.
Error codes and fault lights
Red or amber lights, error codes on the display, or the app showing a fault. We read the fault data and trace it to the actual cause.
Charger not starting a session
You plug in but nothing happens. Could be a communication issue between the charger and car, a failed relay, or a wiring fault.
Tripping the breaker
The circuit breaker trips when you plug in or during charging. This usually means a ground fault, overloaded circuit, or a failing charger component.
Charging slower than normal
If your Level 2 charger is adding far less range per hour than it used to, the charger, the wiring, or your panel connection may be the cause.
Physical damage to the unit
Damaged connector, cracked housing, cable that won't seat properly. We assess whether it's repairable or needs a replacement unit.
No power to the charger at all
Blank display, no lights. Could be a tripped breaker, failed GFCI, loose connection, or a wiring fault at the panel.
Brands We Repair
We service all common residential and commercial EVSE brands. If your charger isn't listed, call us anyway.
How a Repair Visit Works
You call or book online
Tell us what the charger is doing (or not doing), what brand it is, and whether it's at a home or business. We'll usually get to you within a day or two.
On-site diagnosis
Our electrician checks the charger, the wiring, the breaker, and the panel connection. We use the charger's diagnostic data alongside visual and electrical inspection.
We explain what we found
Before touching anything we tell you exactly what's wrong, what it will take to fix it, and how much it costs. No surprises.
Fix it on the spot (usually)
Most common faults are repaired the same visit. If a part needs ordering, we'll get it as fast as possible and return to finish the job.
Test and confirm
We plug in and confirm a successful charging session before we leave. If the fault was electrical in nature, we re-check the circuit under load.
Common Questions
Is it worth repairing an older EV charger or should I replace it?
It depends on the fault and the unit's age. A wiring or breaker issue is always worth fixing. A failed charging board on a seven-year-old unit might cost close to a new charger. We'll give you an honest assessment.
My charger is under warranty. Can I still call you?
Yes. We can diagnose the fault and document it for a warranty claim, or liaise with the manufacturer on your behalf. If the warranty covers the repair, you may get it done at no cost through the manufacturer.
Can a faulty EV charger damage my car?
A properly functioning EVSE communicates with your car before allowing current to flow. That said, a charger with a ground fault or overcurrent issue can potentially cause problems. If your charger is behaving strangely, don't keep using it.
Do you repair commercial charging stations?
Yes. We repair commercial EVSE including multi-port stations, networked chargers, and workplace charging systems. We're familiar with ChargePoint, Flo, and other commercial platforms.
